History about name Lovina

Name Lovina was given by Anak Agung Panji Tisna. It is taken from small hotel in india “Lafeina” when Anak Agung Panji Tisna was stayed there. He also wrote Ni Ketut Widhi (later translated into several languages to remember him).

There are also other version about the name Lovina. Name Lovina is came from two “coconut milk” tree which planted by Anak Agung Panji Tisna, the tree grow menyilang like hug each other. Then Lovina came from latin means love each other.

In 1988-1993 when head of Buleleng district Drs I Ketut Ginantra rules, he name it Lovina from the word “Love” and “Ina” means Love Indonesia.

Lovina beachis located on the north Bali island, in the Kalibubuk, Buleleng district. It is about 10 Km west side of Singaraja town or about 90 Km from Denpasar. Tanah Lot Temple –  Location

Tanah Lot temple located in Beraben village, Kediri area, Tabanan district, Bali Island. It’s about 13 km west east from Tabanan or 25 kmwest south from Denpasar city.

Tanah Lot Temple  is establishe in XV century by Brahmana “Pedanda Bawu Rawuh” or Danghyang Nirartha from Majapahit kingdom in Java. He succeed brought Hinduism in Bali.

While Danghyang Nirartha succesfully gathered many fellowship, then the authority Bendesa Beraben became jeaulous and sent out Danghyang Nirartha from Tanah Lot. Next Danghyang Nirartha leaved Tanah Lot with one condition that he allowed to moved the rock in to the middle of the sea and build a temple. Tanah Lot meaning land on the sea.

Trunyan: A Unique Funeral Ceremony

Once you visit Kintamani, remember to go to Trunyan village, which is located near the lake Batur. You can go by boat for about 20 minutes and it is easy to find since there are many fisherman who catch fishes called Mujair in Bali Island and sale them to Bangli where they used to cook the fish called Sate Mujair.

The funeral is completely different from Balinese since the body is not buried or burned but it is lies on the tree called Menyan tree. Kintamani (Batur) Location and Tourist Guide

Kintamani is lies about 900-1500 m above sea level and it takes about 1 hours from Denpasar and about 23 KM from Bangli. Batur area is located in Batur village, Kintamani district, Bangli region, Bali. You can visit Batur by vehicles since it is lies between Bangli and Kotaraja.

Bedugul Bali is located in Candi Kuning village, Baturit district, Tabanan region and it’s about 45 km from the center region, or 50 km from Denpasar to north along the highway (see: bali map – bedugul).

The temperature is cool average 18⁰ celcius in daytime and 24⁰ celcius in the evening. It is almost the same with the temperature in Kintamani if you have been there before.

Lake Bratan And Ulun Danu Temple

Lake Bratan is a scenic lake in the Bedugul highlands of north-central Bali. Sitting at more than 1,200 meters above sea level, the cool Lake Bratan is a break from the usually hot and humid Bali surroundings.

It fills the crater of the inactive Mount Catur volcano; its shore is dotted with shrines, resorts, restaurants, and watersports facilities such as parasailing and water skiing. Among the quietness of the Lake, we will hear the clearly voice of birds and other inhabitants of the forest surrounding the Lake.

There stood the serene Ulun Danu temple, the temple of the Lake. The temple is known Ulun Danu Temple, Ulun means heart, Danu means lake. This Temple is dedicated to the Goddes of The lake. The temple is believed as home of Goddess Sri or Goddess fertility. The Temple is founded by King of Mengwi on 17th century.

Ulun Danu  Temple has 4 temple area, Lingga Petak Temple, Penataran Pucak Mangu Temple, Terate Bang Temple, and Dalem Purwa Temple that functioned as praise site to God in His form as Tri Murti god, and also known as god of fertility, prosperity, and nature continuously. The visitor can go around the lake with the boat provided.

The history of Ulun Danu Temple

The history of Ulun Danu Bratan Temple is recognize from the archeology and historical data on the old Mengwi book (lontar Babad Mengwi). On the left yard of the temple, there is a sarcophagus and a flat stone from the megalith period about 500 BC. The two artifacts is lies now each on the yard, the location where the artifact lies now is functioned as a ritual ceremony many years from megalith period.

The Mengwi book said that I Gusti Agung Putu is the founder of the Mengwi Kingdom, established a temple near Bratan Lake before he established Taman Ayun Temple. It is not mentioned when he established the temple but he mentioned that Taman Ayun Temple is built on the day of “Anggara Kliwon Medangsia”, year “Saka Sad Bhuta Yaksa Dewa” on year caka 1556 or 1634 C.

From the book Mengwi known that Ulun Danu Bratan Temple built on year caka 1556 by I Gusti Agung Putu. The building make his kingdom into glorious and he is crowned as “I Gusti Agung Sakti”.
