Batur Temple

On the Batur mountain there is also a temple called Batur Temple. The temple is believed as one of the Sad Khayangan (the earth’s pillar). When Batur mountain exploded in 1917, Batur temple which is first lies in west is moved by villagers to which is located now. Batur temple also become a religious site for Hinduism in Bali especially for Central, North, and East Bali. Besides, the temple become a praise site relate with farming.

Trunyan: A Unique Funeral Ceremony

Once you visit Kintamani, remember to go to Trunyan village, which is located near the lake Batur. You can go by boat for about 20 minutes and it is easy to find since there are many fisherman who catch fishes called Mujair in Bali Island and sale them to Bangli where they used to cook the fish called Sate Mujair.

You also could see a unique funeral ceremony which is held when there is a funeral. The funeral is completely different from Balinese since the body is not buried or burned but it is lies on the tree called Menyan tree. The tree which is have good smell will neutralize the dead body so you don’t have to worry about dead smell.

Kintamani (Batur) Location and Tourist Guide

Kintamani is lies about 900-1500 m above sea level and it takes about 1 hours from Denpasar and about 23 KM from Bangli. Batur area is located in Batur village, Kintamani district, Bangli region, Bali. You can visit Batur by vehicles since it is lies between Bangli and Kotaraja.
